Let's Keep On Keeping On

The Ongoing Sacrifice

The main trouble with being a “living sacrifice”, is that we tend

To wiggle off the alter all the time.

Older Christians must battle over their early sacrifices like Abraham who had to keep the vultures off his sacrifice till the Lord Visited.

It wasn't the original gift but the whole event of time in keeping ready that made the whole sacrifice entire and complete.

Paul Mentions Filling up the Cup of His Sufferings. Jesus paid it all, but maybe the suffering of Christians is a continuation of His Ongoing Sacrifice. He stood when Stephen was being stoned to death.

Our vultures attack the things we have already done for the Lord and with the Lord,,,,,, Good News,,,

Hebrews 6:10 For God [is] not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

1950 epilanthanomai {ep-ee-lan-than'-om-ahee}
middle voice from 1909 and 2990;; v unceasing vigilance to focus,
AV - forget 7, be forgetful 1; 8
1) to forget 2) neglecting, no longer caring for
2) forgotten, given over to oblivion, i.e. uncared for
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

The same term for ongoing-ness takes a new direction:
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

Just because we have lots of leaves it dosen’t mean we have any fruit. Many leaves in a christians life may indicate they are busy. But faith that works through love,

Fulfills the will of God. And a tree that God can prune will always bear much fruit.

Sometimes my spankings carry more encouragement than I suspected.

Every whack brings me back. Stay in the palm of the hands of the potter, stay near the Great Gardeners pruning shears. Lord spare not for my crying, mold me and mend me and never stop shaping me oh Lord.

Love in Christ,

"Lucida Handwriting" Text Here
(Another popular face = "Comic Sans MS")

P.S. For 'face' names with more than one word, you must put "
" around the 'face' name i.e. "Lucida Handwriting" or "Comic Sans MS" must be in quotes.

Note: Using a different font (face) will not 'work' unless the visitor
has the font (face) loaded on their machine :(
