This is just a little something to make us go "hmmmmm?"
Note; This chart is the Budget for 2005 compared with the previous 3 years.
Take a look over the items carefuly. Note FY02 is for Fiscal Year 02. These are actual. The FY05 is the projected budget for this year, 2005.
I noticed the Department of Education gets less than a billion dollars a year.
And Department of Labor is also allocated about a 1 billion.
We could actually create jobs help small business with low interest loans, and back our high technology and industry so we could become competitive again.
Then, I took a look at the Treasury Department toward the bottom of the chart. They spend 400 Billion a year just on the Interest Payment we have to make
on the 7 Trillion Dollar Deficite. What a difference. 1 billion for education and 400 billion just to pay the annual interest on the 7 Trillion dollars we, no, I will say, they borrowed. We are now slaves to an interest payment a fifth the size of our entire budget. It made me wonder, who's getting all that interest money.
Wouldn't it be fun to have that 400 billion to spread out to all those scrimpy little Departments on the chart above.
Well before I get opinionated I will stop here and say; go to the government site and click around. They have links that will answer most of your questions.
Just keep in mind, this is YOUR
money they are spending.
and about 48% of that Interest money leaves the United States of America. I sure hope all those countries will be as gracious when we need help from them.
Oh, I forgot, to really make this intersting, go to the history of the U.S. Budgets on the internet, and make a few comparasons.
This is the introduction to the link Government Budget Page. When you get there, you will find lots of more informative links. One link goes to the Treasury Departments Report. They call it, "Posting Budget Expenditures, To the Penny".
Plato once saAnother link shows in detail what all makes up the different departments.
id, "you can know the ideals and the progress of a society by what they choose to spend their money on". The Republic.
If we form our own opinions from the actual data, or concrete facts
we may know enough to keep from being run over by the bandwagons.
Now that you know this material, I am assured that I have a friend to join me in many sleepless nights, tee heee !
